This is not going to end well. Sadly due to current circumstances, I can’t watch anything longer than about three minutes, but I’ve read enough to make a prediction.
They’ll take the money. The Russians will take assets in retaliation. No real win. But the consequences of this will reverberate around the globe. Dollar is the reserve currency.
Why hold it if it’s going to be snatched? Why invest on American soil if it’s going to be confiscated? Why buy American bonds? (No sell bonds, no raise cash). De-dollaritisation has already begun (approx 20% of oil sold last year was not in dollars), it’ll go into overdrive once this happens.
