At least 8 dead and thousands injured in 'pager' explosions attack on Lebanon

Funny that we never hear talk of ‘exploding cars’, or ‘exploding militants’ or buildings, etc.
These events used to be called ‘bombings’.

An attack where reportedly thousands have been injured ‘including Hezbollah fighters’?

Hm… On Oct 7, did we see headlines

“Hundreds injured including IDF and Israeli security personnel”?

No we saw “terrorist attack” on Israel.

Hezbollah blames Israel as exploding pagers kill nine and injure thousands in Lebanon

At least 8 dead, thousands wounded as pagers explode in Lebanon

“Militant group Hezbollah has promised to retaliate against Israel after accusing it of detonating pagers across Lebanon on Tuesday, killing at least eight people and wounding nearly 3000 others who included fighters and Iran’s envoy to Beirut.”

Also strangely absent seems to be …condemnation.

Over at TLN…I see Frank Gardner seems to think it was quite cool.

Words fail me. Indiscriminate killing and maiming normalised or admired.

Disgusting

And already the word is out for Iran to avoid escalating the situation.

The majority of the dead and injured look to be civilians.

Pure terrorism.

Thanks I’m sure we’ve all been wondering about this.

400 critically injured, there will be a lot of deaths maybe a hundred or more. People reluctant to use phones might be holding back the grim updates you would normally expect.

“In a new development, former US intelligence contractor and whistle-blower Edward Snowden has sharply criticized Israel describing its actions as “reckless” and comparable to terrorism.”

If even Snowden in Russia has to say ‘comparable to terrorism’, how far away from the US/west do you have to be to say it outright?

It’s obviously terrorism as people in Lebanon will now be terrified to use even mobile phones. This is likely to disrupt family life.

Israel has said nothing, the BBC informed us this morning. But the link notes this statement from the Knesset::

" “We made great efforts to find a non-military solution in the north and we reached a point where we said enough is enough,” the head of the Israeli Knesset (parliament), told Channel 12, Al-Jazeera reported.

The statement is considered an implicit admission of responsibility for the explosion of thousands of communication devices across Lebanon on Tuesday, resulting in the wounding of thousands and the killing of at least 11.

Sources in Lebanon say that the number of those killed is likely to increase due to the fact that at least 400 Lebanese, mostly civilians, remain in critical conditions."

Maybe the campaign should be to ask the government to proscribe the government of Netanyahu.
