Appeasement: the SHOCKING truth about the 1938 Munich Agreement (part 1 of 3)

I just read part one and highly recommend it.

To avoid sleepwalking into another great war, it is essential that we understand what really happened in 1938 – and it’s nothing like they taught us in school.

I bought Carroll Quigley’s “Tragedy and Hope” that Alex Krainer pays tribute to right at the beginning. I wanted to have a better understanding of the causes of WWI and WWII. However Quigley’s book (this one at least) is a massive academic tome, and much to complex for my small brain. So Krainer’s video gave me some of the detail I didn’t know. If I’m ever forced to do nothing all day, I might return to Quigley but in the meantime, @Rich thanks for posting.

Snap! I considered buying it a while back and binned the idea. There’s a cut down or summarised version of it somewhere for those of us who have mentally had it, lol.

If I come across it I’ll post a link on here.

Cynthia Chung’s book (650 pages, husband is Matt Ehret) is worth a go. The first 100 or so pages is heavy going but once you’ve ploughed through that it gets a lot easier. I promised myself I’d read the whole thing again and make notes next time but I still haven’t got round to it.

The Empire on which the Black Sun Never Set: The Birth of International Fascism and Anglo-American Foreign Policy

How did fascism emerge as a 20th century phenomenon?

In what way is fascism united inexorably to the ancient systems of hereditary power that have manipulated humanity for millenia and how did these institutions shape the contours of recent history, both in the orchestration of World War 2 and in the reconstitution of fascist ideologues during the dark decades of the Cold War?

How are these processes shaping today’s beleaguered world?

Perhaps most importantly, what insights do these historical lessons provide us in our current age to navigate through the storms threatening civilization once more?

These questions and more are answered in this first of two volumes by Cynthia Chung

Meanwhile here’s AK’s second part of Appeasement: the SHOCKING truth about the 1938 Munich Agreement (part 2 of 3)

Neville Chamberlain’s perfidious game in 1938 deliberately created a monster in the heart of Europe, setting stage for the continent’s greatest tragedy in history.

Save yourselves lots of grief by reading, instead, 2 World Wars & Hitler by Macgregor & O’Dowd:

Meanwhile, another easier read, Quigley’s own The Anglo-American Establishment wasn’t published in his lifetime because he feared it would damage the interests of that very same establishment! (and, maybe, the consequences . . . )

Gerard Menuhin’s ‘Tell the Truth and Shame the Devil’ is a bit of an eyebrow-raiser too.

Hi Pat,

I came across it!

A mate has it and has just lent it to me. He’s now considering buying the original.

It’s called Tragedy & Hope 101. The Illusion of Justice, Freedom and Democracy. By Joseph Plummer. 215 pages.
