I sort of hit ‘the wall’ this afternoon. It’s been a very busy and somewhat eventful gite season and I’m a bit worn out with it all. Amongst other things, ‘eventful’ involves the telephone line being out of action for 2 weeks (a tractor brought down the line), not one but two dishwash machines dying one after the other, a first floor shutter falling off and nearly killing one of the guests and lots of problems with the swimming pool that are too numerous to mention.
What will probably be the last lot of guests arrived today. They are nice people, from Holland (a 12 hour drive; the mad bastards). They’re here for a couple of weeks.
So, I don’t have the energy right now to rant and rave about life, the Universe and everything. Instead the not-so-humble croissant. Some people like to dip them into their morning coffee. I like to slice them in two and apply strawberry jam…
