Another Russian/Putin myth upended: The Russian CBDC is nothing like Western CBDC's - simplicius

H/T sashimi of TLN for this reference to a simplicius article on the Russian banking system and CBDC.
It seems that lumping Russia’s CBDC into the same basket as all the other Western CBDC’s is just plain wrong:

a fascinating article, imo.

hat tipping anyone at all at TLN is a bit of a red flag afaic.

Hi @AlanG , I try and indicate my sources - particularly where I nick them from a website - hence my H/T - TLN has an appalling record on all things covid and AGW but on Russia and Ukraine they appear to track the same approach we have here. Simplicius has in the past seemed very informative on the Ukraine and Russia.
This piece by simplicius was a comparison of Western Central Banks and CBDC’s and Russian Central Bank and its CBDC. The Central Bank comparisons are not seriously discussed by Slavsquat, his suggestion that Putin’s discussions with Kissinger affects the Russian Central Bank or its CBDC is just sad. He says:
Right out of the gate, Simplicius misrepresents Putin’s relationship with two disgusting old slobs in an apparent attempt to prove that there’s nothing scary about the Bank of Russia’s CBDC. What’s going on, here? Is this how Thinkers think?

Slavsquat seems to focus more on CBDC’s - there is dispute over whether cash will still remain, simplicius: " they’ve expressly stated that the digital Ruble will not replace cash—though admittedly, none of us take governments at their word when it comes to such things, so I don’t blame anyone for balking." - this doesn’t seem to match the hyperbolic smears from Slavsquat, imo.
