AK tells the story of how the 100 year agreement between Ukraine and the UK came about and how the UK pre-empted Trump on the deal four days before the inauguration.
Apparently the deal was that upon cessation of hostilities in Ukraine, Britain would take control of all of Ukraine’s ports, all of their natural gas deposits, storage facilities and pipelines, titanium deposits and more etc.
But is the agreement legit seeing as Zelensky was no longer president when he signed the contract?
.
Britain is obviously desperate to hang onto the deal.
The point about whether or not Zelenskyy could lawfully sign off is probably going to be a bone for Starmer to gnaw on. A few days ago, after a re-run, the Ukrainian parliament passed a resolution endorsing Z as the legitimate representative of the Ukrainian state until an election can be held. (Paraphrase from memory)
This piece of theatre will enable Trump to sign {something or other} AFTER that endorsement.
Starmer is doomed and this is his torpedo below the line. A lawyer for goodness sake. I’d sooner trust Jimmy McGill.
I wonder who gave the Ukrainian parliament authority to appoint a president or extend a president’s legal term in office. Imagine the US congress extending Biden’s term in office!
Having watched the video last night… wow. Might need to review some of that. It was good to see Nima doing more of the talking. He has great skill in outlining a preamble before then firing off his question.
