Thanks @Evvy_dense for the War related numbers on carbon emissions - 5million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions in the first 14 days - so it could be 10 million today which could bring more than 84 countries’ annual numbers.
I’m not sure about the emissions forecast nor the relationship between weather patterns and global warming - :
“The report comes as the U.S. goes through a record heat wave, with eight states setting an all-time high heat record in March. The heat wave would have been “virtually impossible” without changes caused by the climate crisis, research group World Weather Attribution said.”
contrast this report:
- and of course the evidence for anthropogenic climate change is never produced.
this aspect is far more important and observable than any flimsy CO2 related damage:
" The environmental impact on Iranians is already immense. Israel’s attack on Iranian oil facilities earlier this month caused a massive black cloud to blanket Tehran, leading to toxic rain and atmospheric effects that may cause health effects like cancer for decades to come."
- the use of the word: “may” in the last line is a caveat too far, imo!
cheers
Yeah I was really aiming at the cheap headline ![]()
But it shows how serious they believe the carbon effect really is. Easily forgotten about when convenient. Another example is the moon stuff. Space travel is the hungriest form of human activity in terms of CO2 - at least it was before the present fuckwit military madness.
